Design
Process
Step 1
Understanding the problem and researching
Food delivery is a global industry, powered by the gig economy which has swept North America, Europe, and Asia in the past decade. China’s food delivery apps have the largest user base and market penetration, reaching over 650 million people, the US is the second largest market and the most well-funded.

How might we... design a platform that allows people to order their favorite dishes?..

Creating the design system

Step 2: Coming up with ideas and solutions
Design for Speed
I came up with a lot of ideas and settled on basic onboarding, self-explanatory short processes, a minimal beautiful layout, and optional sign-in/sign-up that doesn’t come up till the final stage of ordering.

Steps 3 and 4
Analyze and Designing
Sketching for Efficient Flows + Visualizations
Then using the different opportunities, I started looking at different user interfaces to design the best visualization of the different food ordering apps. Uber Eats, Didi Food, and Door Dash were sources of inspiration.
